Have you ever noticed that you put the needs of everyone else ahead of your own and that you sometimes feel lost, angry or resentful? Working as a counselor for women at the YWCA of DuPage, with girls in a residential setting and in multiple private practice settings, I have noticed that this is a trend in how women treat themselves. I work hard to find ways to change this pattern and increase the personal satisfaction of everyone who comes to me.

I work with adults and teens and specialize in women’s empowerment, trauma, and divorce support. I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and also work in traditional talk therapy. In addition to my therapy work I provide talks and workshops on subjects like grief, sex therapy, winter blues and working with teen girls.

You may need extra support for a specific situation like coping with a trauma, contemplating or going through a divorce or facing a transition in life. You may be working with a long term issue like depression or anxiety that has been with you for most of your life. In coping with any of this you will find how invaluable unconditional support paired with skills-learning can be.

I believe all people have the potential for peace and empowerment within them. I see myself as a translator for your own inner dialogue and integrate cognitive insight and behavioral skills to bring you the change you need.
